Swim, Bike, Run. Then write about it.

Simple math time. 30w = 210d.

Two hundred and ten days until Ironman. It’s 11:04 and I’m just back from my morning run with Curtis, at this time in 210 days I should be about 2 1/2 hours into my ride. According to the map and the plan, that will put me somewhere right near the top of Richter Pass, somewhere about Spotted Lake and just before the last climb. I won’t be a happy camper at that point, oh no I won’t.

The run this morning was a good step though, 17.27km in the rain and with more than it’s fair share of hills. My body needed it though and I’m glad that both Curt and I were able to hold it together for the entire run. My calf held up very well only twinging a bit every now and then. Certainly no pain though and I finished feeling solid if tired.

Running with the kiddo is pretty fun and keeps me motivated. At times I just want to back it off and go a bit more mellow but with the kiddo there I don’t, which just has to be good for me.

This will be my last week of double running (Saturday and Sunday) until after the Langley Historic Half Marathon in a few weeks. It’s been good for overall training, but I need to stay injury free and be ready for the race. I can pick it up afterward perhaps, or wait until the Olympics are done and avoid the traffic.

And, it’s time for more simple math, now that January is over:
Swim – 10.4km
Bike – 63km (all spinning)
Run – 190.5km

Yup, that’s 190.5km of running this month. That’s my single best ever month of running. No doubt I was a bit tired this evening :)

End of month weight, same as start of month weight. 204. I can tell you that the weight has moved around a bit, but it isn’t going anywhere. I need to drop it back down to sub 200 again like it was in early November.

Nutrition today hasn’t actually been all that bad. I ate, I don’t feel hungry . On a super positive note, I was grocery shopping at Save-On today, the one at Metrotown. The one with a McDonald’s and a Tim Horton’s in it. I elected not to stop at either for a quick snack before grocery shopping, just because I didn’t want to have to write about it here. That’s a GOOD thing. Rather related, as I was lazing about the house tonight, realizing that the meat I took out had not defrosted, I did NOT order pizza.
