Swim, Bike, Run. Then write about it.

My nutrition, the more I read, seems to suck. Even on days where I don’t eat pure crap, and sadly today was not such a day, I don’t eat well. It is like I just want to invest some external entity to be the plenipotentiary of my eating and make them both all powerful and all responsible. I think nutrition has always been like that for me, I don’t want to take the responsibility on myself.

This is pretty weird when you think of who I am as a person in so many other aspects of life. Ah well.

So since I did go to the library and I have been reading on nutrition, I have been learning some stuff. What I’m no closer to though is a menu. Back to wanting someone to just tell me what to eat and when. Heck, I don’t even really care why.

I don’t know why I have this block in nutrition, but I seem to. That’s as good a reason as any to get past it of course :)

Of course my body is not responding well to junk food. After lunch today I just felt bloated and icky. Even though dinner wasn’t horrible at all, I was left with an upset stomach and just not overly happy. Clearly I need to do more reading.

Nutrition today just sucked. As I was scarfing down fries from Mc Chucks I was thinking how shitting it was going to be to write about it this evening. ug.

Stick with it, it sounds like you are giving the problem lots of attention. Do you think maybe planning a series of meals during the weekend for the upcoming week (when work gets hectic) would help? It’s extra work on the weekend but could remove the guesswork during the week which leans toward consuming whatever is convenient. I don’t envy you this task – whenever I can’t decide what to eat I usually eat out, which although healthy, gets expensive.

Ah, Sean, you’ll get there. Ray Ray is right, it’s a matter of planning and having reasonable food ready (or close to ready). The grocery store and cook books are your friends – you have the bonus of a love of cooking. Keep at it! And I’ll try to take some of my own advice. I’m not brave enough to write down what I eat!

Keep your head up….eating well and enough is tough. As your volume increases, you will need more nutrition as well so learning how to eat *good stuff* frequently will be the key to staving off hunger and staying away from the *bad stuff*. Writing it all down and reflecting is a good first step!
