So today, this morning, I feel that Ironman is possible.

The weekend really helped me get my head around the distances and my body’s ability to handle that kind of work.

Can I swim 4km? Yup, turns out that I can.
Can I bike 180km? Amazingly enough, I can, proved it yesterday (longest ever ride)
Can I run a marathon? Yup, proved that a couple of times over actually.

More importantly though I can get out of the pool after 4km and feel good to go. I can finish 180km on the bike and have legs left to do a run.

Oh, and I can do math.

Estimated 3.86km race swim time: < 1:30:00 (1:20:00 isn't out of reach)
Estimated 180km race bike time: < 7:00:00 (6:30:00 isn't out of reach)
Estimated 42.2km race run time: < 5:00:00 (4:40:00 isn't out of reach)

Is my marathon going to be my fastest? Heck no. But I'll finish it, and I'll finish it in a reasonable time.

On that note though, later in the evening I went swimming and just had no energy, motivation or desire to be there in the least. Finally, after 1200 rather lackadaisical meters I just said fuck it and hopped in the hot tub and chatted to Sheryl.

Somedays you just don't feel the love, better to take the rest of the time off rather than push through and lose motivation or possibly injure yourself, right?
